CADFEM Academic

Simulation for Research and Education

Digital simulation has now become a key element of fundamental research in higher education and in scientific and technical disciplines. However, academic institutions incorporating simulation into their curricula face several challenges, such as budget constraints, simplified procurement processes, and cross-departmental or cross-campus usage.

The ideal numerical computing solution is one that adapts to the needs of the greatest number of users, including professors, students, and researchers.

ANSYS offers a wide range of tools and services to meet the growing demands of the academic world.

CADFEM offers comprehensive support through the CADFEM Academic initiative. We bring our expertise to optimise the use of ANSYS solutions and offer tailored services such as training, dedicated technical support and advice on how to effectively integrate simulation into programmes.

We offer academic licences adapted to different types of use

We offer academic licences adapted to different types of use: Teaching, Research and Associate.

HPC in universities

Complex research projects often require the simulation of large assemblies, demanding considerable computing resources. Multi-core processors, even in laptops, offer impressive performance gains for medium to large-scale problems. Ansys Academic meets these needs with two levels of high-performance computing.

Integrated HPC

Teaching, Research and Associate licenses include HPC capability for basic academic tasks, with up to 4 cores in shared and distributed memory. GPU access is enabled for Ansys Mechanical, Fluent and Electronics. Research and Associate bundles offer a further 12 cores per license.

Additional HPC

For Research and Associate licenses, HPC capacity can be extended by purchasing additional Ansys Academic HPC licenses. This optimizes performance for complex projects. For most physics solvers, HPC and GPU capabilities with shared and distributed memory can also be extended.
